images communicate on diverse levels that are sometimes problematic to perceive in simple, black and white terms. i try to communicate through my art, it's my way of expressing what i perceive. my creativity often represents markers in time, each painting bringing me back to a moment in my life, or a specific set of thought occurring in my mind. my personal responses to the inspiration i receive from many artists is clearly visible in some of my work; coming into contact with some of their work undoubtedly affects my imagination. art is like a form of music, each piece may have a different meaning and provoke a variety of responses. beksinski speaks to me through a sort of fantastical realism, a post-apocalyptiscape almost. i’m naturally fond of kandinsky’s colliding yet obliquely aggregating methods of using colour and klee since he seems to take enjoyment in discovering his artistic mentalities and sensibilities, his inspirations often drawing directly form his dreams. i constantly try to exceed myself, pushing boundaries a little further each time, trying to extend and develop my skills, exploring and building on techniques which i try to use to develop my individual style. i feel that art is not merely about understanding its varying significances, such as they may be, but also about engaging the viewers’ emotions and sensibilities. i want, therefore, to elicit both an intellectual and emotional response form my audience.
