What makes me a goth? I would say that three key traits identify me as such, namely my lack of caring about popularity and the norm, my instinctual desire for dark colors, and my passion for metal music. Nightwish, KSE, BMTH, BFMV and BTBAM are some of my favorite bands just to name a few. Major bonus points if you know what those abbreviations mean.

You'd never guess I was a goth if you met me for the first time. People have known me for several months and it had never occurred to them based on the way I look, act, talk, and dress, that I had even an ounce of goth in me.

I will make one thing clear from the very beginning; I am straightedge, and am looking for somebody similar. I drink socially, but do not smoke anything or use anything else. I'm not a substance abuser, and do not wish to become involved with somebody who falls under that category.

Call me old fashioned, but the classic dinner and a movie is the perfect first date in my opinion.

What's so perfect about it? The nature of both activities are something everybody loves (everybody eats, and people who don't like movies at all are few and far between) which have enough ***-activity variance to allow initial exploration of each other's tastes (i.e. type of restaurant, choice of dish at said restaurant, and type of movie chosen).

To be specific, I'd take my date to a nice place (i.e. Pickle Barrel, Moxies). I'd get dressed up for it. I want to impress her. On my dime, of course (it's so ungentlemanly to expect the girl to pay, especially on the first date). Then we'd decide on a movie to see, and if things are going well, hopefully we can have coffee or drinks after and chat a bit more.

This can mean a lot of things. I'll leave it blank for now, just because I'll try anything once, and don't want to single out something I want to try in a short blurb such as this.

It really isn't possible to say "what I'm looking for". A connection between two people is something you can't put to words. Chemistry is intangible, and there is no formula to attraction.

Now, any average Joe can write that in evasion of a common problem in males of not knowing what they want.

The reality is that I don't 100% know what I want. However, I know that whatever I do want, will be with somebody who I feel a connection to. And the only way to do that is to chat a bit first, maybe go out on a few dates, and then we can establish if it's working or not.
