I am a bull in china shop, a dog chasing cars, covered in tattoos of ghosts and scars, some come from prison, or friends I was with in them or fist fights for fucks sakes in redneck honkey tonk heavens or speeding with demons in dirty dive bars. But each one has hurt me or healed me the same way and I earned a few more than I thought I could take sometimes I regret them and wished I could hide from the reasons my brothers left so much behind I still wear them with honor for the blood and the tears to recall how I got them or how they got me and know that the worst ones among them are the ones no one can see. The scars on my heart are the darkest and deep, they are what haunts me and keeps me from sleep, faces of angels so fatal and few were the souls set to love me and hold me and show me the truth, to shine light in the darkness that fosters my rage and breath life into my lungs and take away all my pain, I knew it and felt it nand let love guide me in but my demons and defects always proved too my hex, my curse of destruction set to tear them apart and drag them down with me and burry us both so to save them from falling and losing their glow I just cut them from my heart and then let them go. Each time has been harder and taken more of my soul I carry on without them as life takes it toll I carry it closely tucked into the fold between hell and my heart and my heart and my soul I hold onto a shred of how I’ll find fire that can make me whole
